So what'cha been doin'?

That's a good question!

In knitting terms I'm working on a number of projects, all of them fun!

First up is Copacabana, a sweater knit in Mirasol Sulka yarn, an absolutely dreamy silky yarn in a beautiful wine/burgandy colour with contrasting trim.

I'm knit this in the round up to the armhole shaping where I split for back and front. I've finished the back shaping and am working on the front, which is knit in two pieces.  I'm also using a splicing method for joining the yarn as the balls are ridiculously tiny and I don't want to waste a millimeter much less the few inches it would take to join my standard way! It's working out well and I can't wait to wear it!

I also swatched this:

Which is for a something special that I don't want to talk about too much!

And, now...news regarding my sock.  Yes...sock...singular as in...not plural!

I went to a sock knitting class at This is Knit in Blackrock, you might recall it's been 12 years since I knit my last sock and I wanted a refresher.  So here is my sock in all its knitted glory:

Except that I've made a mistake.  And while apparently it's a mistake that sock knitters actually buy books to learn how to do..I did mine entirely on my own! The problem is...I have no idea how to duplicate it for the next sock.  Therefore, since I'm a sucker for symmetry, the second sock will probably never be made!

Here are two images highlighting the mistake.

Somewhere along the line I messed up my decreases.  It looks cool though! As mistakes go it could have been worse! In the meantime I cast on for another pair in Lorna's Laces Lion and Lamb, Gold Hill.  Hopefully they will be a mistakeless matching Pair!

So there is lots of knitting on the go in my life and I couldn't be happier!
